Trim all text lines
Remove the same number of characters from the beginning of every line. Paste your text, choose how many characters to trim, and copy the result.
How it works
Paste your text, choose how many characters to remove from each line, and click Trim. Then click Copy result to copy the edited text. Changing the input or character count clears the previous result until you trim again.
Spaces, tabs, punctuation, and letters all count as characters. Counting uses Unicode code points, so an emoji such as 😀 counts as one; combined symbols may use more than one. A count of zero leaves the text unchanged. Blank lines are retained.
For example, trimming 3 characters from 01 hello gives hello. Everything runs locally in your browser.
Example: remove a repeated prefix
To change ID: apple and ID: pear into apple and pear, trim four characters from each line. The count includes the space after the colon. This tool trims by position, not by matching a specific word.
