1 KB = 1,024 bytes. 1 MB = 1,048,576 bytes. Maximum 500 MB. Choose a size that equals a whole number of bytes and fits at least one data row.

Data types to include

Each column keeps one randomly assigned type. All selected types appear when there are enough columns; otherwise a random subset is used.

File format and size

Files use comma-separated values, a header row, UTF-8 without a byte order mark, and Windows-style line endings. Dates use YYYY-MM-DD, date and time uses YYYY-MM-DD HH:mm:ss, and boolean values are true or false.

Only complete rows are included, so the file may be slightly smaller than the requested size. Headers are not padded. Very small sizes may not fit the chosen columns; the tool will ask you to increase the size.

Why can the CSV be smaller than the requested size?

The generator keeps complete rows instead of padding the last row or header to reach an exact byte count. Data types are assigned to columns randomly, so this is sample data rather than a fixed business schema.
